BEHIND THE SCENES AT FIVE SEAS: ESTHER, EVENT SALES MANAGER

Can you tell us about your background and your role as Event Sales Manager?

I first joined the Five Seas sales department in February 2024 for my final internship as part of my Master’s degree in Hotel Management. It was a very enriching period during which I discovered how the department operates, the relationship with a demanding business clientele, commercial negotiation, and above all, organizational methods.

At the end of my internship, I learned that the hotel was going to be acquired by the Inwood Group. Following an internal reorganization, I was given the opportunity to return to the Five Seas as Event Sales Manager. I then took over the management of the department and I am now responsible for handling all event requests, meetings, and residential groups, particularly during congress periods.

My main mission is to take the time to tailor our proposals to each client’s needs. I welcome them for site inspections and am also present on the event day to ensure everything runs smoothly. In all these tasks, I work closely with an assistant, with whom I collaborate on every project.

There is also a strong internal organizational component to ensure flawless execution. I am in constant communication with operational teams to coordinate every detail before and during the event. My role also includes a financial aspect, overseeing billing and budget management for each project.

In your opinion, what makes the Five Seas strong?

The location! It is extremely advantageous for congress clients, as we are literally a two-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals. This allows them to step away for a business lunch overlooking Le Suquet or to host a client evening on our rooftop, while still remaining in the heart of the city.

The attention given to our guests is another key strength. Every team — both hotel and restaurant — always goes the extra mile to make clients feel at home, with the added touch of five-star service. This is what builds loyalty, as the majority of our professional clients renew their events with us year after year.

Do you have an example of a project that illustrates the Five Seas’ event expertise?

The Tax Free evenings are a great example. It’s a congress with clients who have very high expectations in terms of personalization, requiring the involvement of multiple external providers (decoration, audiovisual, musicians, etc.).

The Five Seas is able to handle this type of complex request, which involves coordinating numerous suppliers, adapting event spaces accordingly, and delivering tailor-made elements such as branded cocktails designed in the company’s colors.

Our team’s expertise allows us to host all types of events, from a business dinner for 30 guests to a highly personalized cocktail reception for 150 people celebrating the launch of a new product.

In a few words, what makes an event successful?

Anticipation is key to avoiding the stress of last-minute issues, for both our teams and our clients. I always make sure to discuss every important detail with clients so that nothing is left to chance on the big day.

Clear communication between teams is essential. Once the client has shared all the necessary information, I ensure that everyone on site has the same understanding in order to deliver exactly the experience the client envisioned.

And finally, relationship-building. We work so that people can come together and enjoy a meaningful moment. A genuine care for the client and the desire to create pleasure are essential elements in the success of any event.
